Friday, August 21st, 2015 4:00pm to 7:00pmA celebration of life for Christopher Wickliff, 43, of Newton will be held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, August 21, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials to the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Newton to be used for the softball association or to Chris’ family may be left at the funeral home.
Chris, the son of Chuck and Sue (Kriegel) Wickliff, was born on July 30, 1972 in Iowa City, Iowa. He lived most of his life in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in the class of 1989. Chris had worked for 13 years at Moehl Millwork in Ankeny as the Head of the Commercial Sales Department. Prior to that he had worked many years at Circle B in Newton. Chris loved to play golf and slow pitch softball. He also enjoyed bowling, boating, and riding his motorcycle.
Those left to honor Chris’ memory are his two sons, Brandon (Amy) Wickliff of Solon and Cameron Wickliff of Newton; his longtime partner, Allyson Needham of Newton and her daughter, Ashley Needham of Colfax; his father, Chuck Wickliff of Newton; sisters, Amy Wickliff (Karen Bianchi) of Des Moines, Melissa (Mike) Noftsger of Gardner, Kansas, Abby Wickliff of Newton, and Jessica Wickliff (Ben Goodwin) of Newton; and his long-time friend, James “Hutch” Hutchinson of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Wickliff; paternal grandparents, Don Jr. and Mary Lou Wickliff; and maternal grandparents, Henry and Laura Kriegel. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 15 Aug 2015.
