"Peggy" Beatrice Danks, 83, of 500 1st St. N. died Friday, Oct. 17, at her residence in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery. Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines is handling arrangements.

Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home where the family will be available from 2 to 5 p.m.

Memorials will be accepted to the Kellogg Fire and Ambulance or to Hospice of Jasper County Capital Campaign and may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 13 Oct 2003.

“Peggy” Beatrice Danks

“Peggy” Beatrice Danks, 83, of 500 1st St. N. died Friday, Oct. 17 at her residence in Newton.

Funeral services were held today at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Pastor Mike Taylor and Pastor Rick Bennett officiating. Burial was at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.

Memorials will be accepted to Kellogg Fire and Ambulance or to the Hospice of Jasper County Capital Campaign and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Francis A. and E. Pearl (Hard) Bennett, she was born June 19, 1920, in Newton. On Aug. 5, 1941, she married C. Jack Danks in Newton. She later married G. Vern Danks on Feb. 7, 1987, in Kellogg. She was a sales associate at Oberlander’s in the Newton Mall and at Pearson Drug on the east side of the Newton Square in 1989. She attended the Kellogg Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Don J. and JoAnn Danks and Terry D. and Brenda C. Danks of Erie, Ill.; two stepsons, Duane Danks and Jeff Danks, both of Minnesota; two step-daughters and a son–in-law, Norma Heuer and Victoria and David Dzieweczynski, all of Minnesota; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Chuck Lust of Newton; and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a great-grandson, and six brothers and three sisters. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 20 Oct 2003.
