Thelma Helene (Kooistra Loupee) Hotger
Thelma Helene (Kooistra Loupee) Hotger, 92, of Park centre died Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. David Wendel of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted to the First United Methodist Church.
The daughter of John and Minnie (Brand) Kooistra, she was born Oct. 2, 1911, in Jasper County. She was a 1928 graduate of Newton Senior High School. On Oct. 15, 1932, she married Ruskin Loupee in Killduff. Later, in the fall of 1978, she married Clarence Hotger.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church and a bridge club.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Carolyn Loupee of Marion and Larry and Mary Anne Loupee of Newton; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; six brothers, Walter, Elmer, Harold, Les, Don and Merlyn; and one sister, Jane Reynolds. ~ The Newton Daily News, Fri 28 Nov 2003.
