Lois Jean Masters

Lois Jean Masters, 67, of Newton died Sunday, Nov. 17, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg with the Rev. Neal S. Busker of the Community reformed Church in Newton officiating. Wallace family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

The family will greet friends immediately following the graveside service in the fellowship room of the funeral home with a coffee time. Memorials will be accepted to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Clifford and Nancy (Hammer) Irish, she was born June 12, 1936, in Killduff. She was a graduate of Newton Senior High School. She was a cook at park Centre and a member of the Community reformed Church in Newton. She enjoyed cooking and her pets and family. She was a resident of Killduff, Reasnor and Newton.

Survivors include a daughter and her fiancé, Dianna Risinger and Dennis Wares of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ardelle Jacobs. ~ The Newton Daily Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, Tues Nov 18, 2003.
