Lorene E. Jimenez, 81, of 538 W. 9th St. N. in Newton died Monday, Oct. 20, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton with Chaplain Merle Smith officiating.

The body was cremated.

Family and friends will gather at the cemetery prior to the service.

Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

No visitation is scheduled.

Lorene E. Jimenez, 81, of538 W. 9th St. N. in Newton died Monday, Oct 20, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

The daughter of Tom J. and Eva C. (Nelson) Price, she was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Colfax. She was a graduate of Colfax High School. On June 28, 1942, she married Joe Jimenez in Unionville, Mo. She grew up in Colfax and Newton area and lived in California for 33 years. She was a sales clerk at Power Drug in Newton for many years.

Survivors include a son, Richard Jimenez of Newton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Price of Long Prairie, Minn., Bob Price and Effie of Bussey and Norman Price and Carole of Newton; three sisters, Doris McKeever of Dunkerton, Virginia Janssens of LeClaire and Beverly Cullings of Exira; a brother-in-law, Augustine Jimenez; and many nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and four sisters. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed 22 Oct 2003.
