MESA, Ariz. - Philip E. Jarrell, 78, of Mesa, Ariz., a former Maytag employee, died Aug 2. A memorial service was held in Arizona on Thursday, Aug. 7. Visitation will be held at Foster Funeral Home, 800 Willson Ave, Webster City on Friday, Aug. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. With burial at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City at 3 p.m., Saturday. Memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, PO Box 6839, Mesa, Ariz. 85216 or to Sunshine Acres Children's Home, 3405 N. Higley Road, Mesa, Ariz. 85215.
The son of Joseph and Bernice (Betterton) Jarrell, he was born in Knoxville. He served in world War II in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged with the rank of Fireman First Class. He worked for the Maytag Company for 14 years, and retired after 24 years from Frigidaire Washer/Dryer Division of Webster City in 1988 as director of q1uality control. Phil and his wife, Jacky, have resided in Arizona since 1990.
survivors include his wife, Jacky (Hosselton); a son, Michael of Harlan; six daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Fisher of Webster City, Denice and Mike Fort of Columia Tenn., Patric and Steve Nicoson of Urbandalke, Shirley and Clarke Carlson of Stratford, Trisha and Dan Nixon of Ankeny and Tanya and Mat McCarty of Gilbert, Ariz.; 14 Grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
