Evelyn "Faye" Shelley, 67, passed from this life on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Taylor House in Des Moines. In agreement with her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service celebrating Faye's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at Waukee United Methodist Church in Waukee. A private burial will take place at a later date at Waukee Cemetery.

Faye was born on December 6, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa to Verle Emmert and Clara Lucille (Bass) Hawbaker. She was a graduate of Dallas Center-Grimes High School.

On April 27, 1968, Faye was united in marriage to Dennis S. Shelley in Waukee and to this union, two daughters were born. Faye was employed as a Librarian with Urbandale Schools for 30 years, retiring in June of 2010. It was there where she made many lifetime friends. In 1982, Faye earned her private Hot-Air Balloon License and ballooning was a long-time family past time. She enjoyed gardening and shopping; Faye loved spending time with her family and to go antiquing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Dennis Shelley of Urbandale; two daughters, Tracy J. (Troy) McGee of West Des Moines, and Robyn R. (Tom) Webster of Evans, WA; two sisters, Ruth Green of Ankeny, and Linda (Jim) Brain of Newton; four grandchildren, Gabe and Mason McGee, and Emma and Liam Webster. Faye was preceded into eternal life by her
