Friday, July 24th, 2015 2:30pmRobert “Bob” “Moldy” Mindham, 72, of Newton died on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 24, at McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax. The family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, July 23, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. Memorials in Bob’s name may be left at the funeral home or at the graveside service.
Bob, the son of Charles and June (Geisler) Mindham, was born on July 18, 1943 in Colfax. He grew up in Des Moines and graduated from North High School. Bob had a love of motorcycles and enjoyed working on them. He owned and operated The Cycle Barn in Newton. Bob was a member of ABATE of Iowa and also helped in the organization of Thunder Nights.
Those left to honor Bob’s memory are his daughters, Sherri Shunk of Newton, Sandra Mindham-Tengram of Newton, and Micole (Darryl) Booth-Earley of Texas; grandchildren, Sara Penning, Jessie Shunk, Nicolas Dean Greer, and Michael Booth; two great-grandchildren, Max and Marshall Penning; step-son, Steve Ratcliff and his family; his significant other, Kathy Sanders of Newton and her children, Andrew and Jacob Stengele and Cierra and Dakota Armstrong; three sisters, Sue, Roberta, and Lois Jo; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Mindham; mother and step-father, June and Beauford Wilson; brother, Nelson Mindham; and the mother of his children, Janice Dutcher. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 19 Jul 2015.
