David Arthur Hogendorn, 77, of 1100 Cummins Road died of a heart attack Monday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. The body will be cremated following services.

He was born in Colfax and had lived in the Des Moines area most of his life. He was a retired lobbyist for Iowa Motor Truck Association and Iowa State Police Association. He formerly worked as a press foreman for Meredith Corp. and as an investigator for the Polk County attorney's office.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was a member of Highland Park Christian Church, Daylight Masonic Lodge, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Des Moines Consistory, Scottish Rite , American Legion and Marine Corps League.

Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Fahey of Morris, Ill., and Nancy Baltazar of Des Moines; a brother, Frank of Walnut Creek, Calif.; a sister, Ruth Palmer of Des Moines; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Baldwin-Patterson American Legion Post and Shriner Crippled Children and burn Hospitals. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Fri 7 Nov 1997.
