BAXTER, Iowa – Keneth, 77, of Baxter, died Monday, June 23, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be Thursday after 10:30 a.m. at the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ with Dr. David Hottenstein officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Baxter where full military honors will be given by members of the Baxter American Legion Post no. 493 and the Newton VFW Post No. 1655.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ and the Baxter American Legion.

The son of Leonard and Leila Lint Richardson, he was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Mingo. He attended Mingo High School.

He married Beatrice A. Klauenberg Feb 21, 1946, in Mason City.

He was employed as a construction worker; served in the United States Army during World War II; and worked for the Anscol Feed Mill Company. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ; Disabled American Veterans; the Baxter American Legion Post no. 493; and the Newton Veterans of Foreign wars Post No. 1655.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nanci (Mrs. David) Deaton of Newton and Rebecca Richardson of Baxter; two brothers, Zenith of Marshalltown and Oden “Dutch” of Altoona; two sisters, Yola Plummer of Altoona and Leota Sanders of Liscomb; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa June 1997.
