Pearl C. Boyd Griebeling, 91, of 619 1st Ave. W., a resident of Newton since 1926, died Saturday morning, March 30, at Careage of Newton of heart failure.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Congregational United Church of Christ.

The Rev. David Raymond, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Congregational United Church of Christ will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband, Clarence W.; two daughters, Mary Jo Niskin of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., and Carolyn Jane (Mrs. Howard) Runyon of La Jolla, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin daughter, Constance Jean, in infancy, and three sisters, Nettie James, Hilda Larson and Sylvia Henderson.

Mrs. Griebeling was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ and Congregational Guild, was a member of the PEO for more than 50 years and had been a member of the Questers Club.

Mrs. Griebeling, a homemaker, and music teacher in Baxter and Newton, had chaired the Easter Seal Drive and served as choir director of the Congregational United Church of Christ.

The daughter of Peter B. and Olena Boyd, she was born June 8, 1899 in Lee, Ill., and was graduated from Story City High School, University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Drake University in Des Moines.

She was married to Clarence W. Griebeling Aug. 25, 1926 in Story County. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 1 Apr 1991.
