Carrie Mae Stevens, 91, Died Monday

Ms. Terry Mason Stevens, 91, a resident of Colfax for nearly 50 years, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1969, at her apartment in the Grand Hotel. Though in frail health the past seven years, she had been about as usual on Sunday.

The daughter of Hamilton and Sarah still Stevens, she was born May 11, 1878, at Springhill.

Miss Stevens was a graduate of a college in South Dakota. She was a great schoolteacher for more than 50 years.

She came to make her home at Colfax in about 1921.

Miss Stevens was a member of the United Methodist Church of Colfax.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews and a half sister, Mrs. Ethel Luscombe of Newton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Walters Funeral Home at Colfax. The Rev. Lawrence Garrett, Minister of the United Methodist Church of Colfax will officiate.

Burial will be in the cemetery in Indianola. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 9 Oct 1969.
