Dorothy Ruth Heskett, 82, of Mingo died of cancer Friday at Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Heskett lived most of her life in Des Moines before moving to Mingo. She was a doll artist, owner of Dorothy's Dolls and founder of Capital City Doll Club, Guys and Dolls Doll Club and Sunbonnet Doll Club.

Surviving are a brother, Bill Parker of Davenport; three children; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House on Grand. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Sun 6 Jul 1997.
