Clifford De Bruyn

Clifford Carl De Bruyn, 68, of Rt. 1, Otley, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon, Oct 20, at the Corydon Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.
The Rev. John Claussen, pastor of the Kellogg Christian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Hewitt Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions to the fund in his name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Wilma; two sons, Gordon of Newton and Rayford of Kellogg; six brothers, Earl of Brooklyn, Vernon “Pete”, Charles and Richard, al of Newton, Robert of Portland, Ore., and Norman of Galesburg; and three sisters, Helen Quinn and Evelyn Wilson, both of Newton and Kathryn Icenbice of Newburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Ivan and Marvin.

Mr. De Bruyn, a construction bulldozer operator, was a veteran of World War II. He served in the Mountaineer division of the Army in the European Theatre.
The son of Carl Guy and Delia Holmes De Bruyn, he was born March 8, 1919 in Reasnor.

He was married to Wilma Irene Stine Feb. 18, 1939 in Des Moines.
