Services for Ruth A. Mayfield of Omaha, Nebraska, were held Saturday, January 19, 2001, at Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Rev. Harold Koughn, Pastor of the Monroe United Methodist Church officiated the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
She passed away in Omaha January 16, 2002.
Ruth was born February 11, 1909, in Monroe, the daughter of Early Seldon and Catherine McNiesh Pendroy. She was a Monroe High School graduate and attended Business College in Des Moines. She has lived in Omaha since 1954 and also had lived in Des Moines. She was a retired Civil Service Employee.
Survivors are her son, Barry Mayfield and his wife, Paulette of Mead, Nebraska; five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; nephew Marvin Pendroy of Monroe; and niece Marlene Pendroy of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jack; one sister; and 6 brothers.

Mayfield, Ruth A. (Pendroy)

OMAHA, Neb. — Ruth A. Mayfield, 92, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Monroe, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, in Omaha. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe with the Rev. Harold Koughn, pastor of Monroe Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Friends may call after noon Saturday at the Funeral home. Memorials will be accepted to the Monroe Library.

The daughter of Earl Seldon and Catherine McNiesh Pendroy, she was born Feb. 11, 1909, in Monroe. She graduated from Monroe High School and attended Business College in Des Moines. She was a retired civil service employee and lived in Des Moines and Omaha.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Paulette Mayfield of Mead, Neb., five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a nephew and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a sister and six brothers.
