Services for Lewis J. Straight were held at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Syd McCrorey, assistant pastor of the Community Heights Alliance Church officiating. Cremation followed the service. Burial will be at Ida Grove Cemetery at a later date. Lewis J. (Jim) Straight, of Reasnor, passed away Monday, December 3, 2001, at his home.
Lewis was born July 23, 1947, in Scobey, Montana, to Alvin R. and Frances L. J. Beeks Straight. He lived in Newton from 1981 to 1997, when he moved to Reasnor. He was a member of the Third Wheel, had been a driver for Mannatt’s Inc., and worked for Car Country.
Survivors include four brothers, Patrick of Grand Island, Nebraska, William and Gus of Newton, and Joseph of Des Moines, two sisters, Laura Goin of Elgin, Oregon, and Cora (Dian) Straight of Newton, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
