William "Bill" M. Lammers

William "Bill" Lammers, age 58, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, formerly of Newton, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. An interment of the urn was held Monday, July 14, 2014 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Newton, Iowa.

William M. "Bill" Lammers, 58 of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, son of Marvin E. and Marilyn (Walker) Lammers, was born Monday September 13, 1954 in Newton. Bill graduated with the Newton High School Class of 1975. He worked at Progress Industries and at Woodward Hospital, and was a full-time National Guardsman. He married Deborah Grothoff on January 19, 1996 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Lammers of Newton; wife Debbie Lammers of Mt. Vernon; stepdaughter, Melissa Knappier of Mt. Vernon; step grandchildren, Dylan and Devin Bruns of Mt. Vernon and Guy Twiggs of Smithboro brother Mark Lammers of Gainesville, GA.; sisters, Anne Wessinger and Jeannne Payne of Newton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his father.

In honor of his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no visitationor funeral service.
