Former Colfax Woman Died In Minnesota

Funeral Services for Mrs. Richard Sharp Held Monday

Mrs. Richard Sharp passed away at the hospital at Tracy, Minnesota, February 19th, death resulting from complications following an attack of influenza.

Mrs. Sharp was taken to the hospital from her home at Garvin, Minn., about a week prior to death and it was thought for a time after her arrival there she would recover her health. Later complications followed however, and in her weakened state she was unable to combat them.

Linnie Boyd, as she was best known here, was born at the Boyd homestead north of Colfax and grew to young womanhood in this vicinity.

She had a charming personality and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances. The long list of friends made in her girlhood was added to rapidly in her young married and in her maturity. Through having been gone from Colfax for a number of years, many of the highest kind of tributes have been paid her by those with whom she used to associate and who remember her for her kindly ways and beautiful disposition. Her inner goodness showed forth in her many deeds and not only the family but many friends will miss this good wife and mother and true sister and loyal friend.

Linnie N. Boyd, daughter of Wm. M. and Margaret Rieman Boyd was born near Colfax, Iowa, April 24, 1875 and died in Tracy, Min. February 19, 1932.

Mrs. Sharp’s last illness began about two weeks ago when she was stricken with the flu, causing a heart collapse. She was taken later to the Clinic Hospital in Tracy, Minn., where all that could be done by medical science and loving care was unavailing.

Services were held at the Congregational Church at Garvin, Minn., Saturday morning, Feb 19th, when she was brought to her old home in Colfax, where on Monday afternoon a beautiful service was conducted at the Presbyterian Church by Rev. Theodore Morning and interment made in Highland Cemetery.
