Funeral For Mrs. H. W. Wistner Held Wed.
Passed Away at her Home in Ogden, Utah, August 15th

Short funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Harry W. Wistner, of Ogden, Utah, at the home of her niece, Mrs. Cora Scott, on Front Street.

Mrs. Josephine Wistner was born May 16th, 1856, in Jasper County, Ia., but left here when a young lady. She had visited here with her brother, Chas. W. Mills, and niece, Mrs. Scott, on various occasions, and was known by some of the older folks of the community.

Since her marriage to Harry W. Wistner, she has lived in various cities of the west. At the present time he is Asst. Superintendent of the Southern Pacific Railroad and located at Ogden, Utah.

Last spring Mr. Wistner became ill and after he did not respond to treatment at Ogden, the officials of the railroad took him to San Francisco, Cal., where he could get the care and treatment needed. He was still confined to the hospital when Mrs. Wistner died. However, with a trained nurse and doctor, he was taken to Ogden after word came of the serious illness and death of his wife, but he was not able to make the journey to Colfax.

According to word received here, Mrs. Wisner has been suffering for some time with heart trouble, but her last illness was of short duration, and none of her relatives here were able to be with her in her last hours. She passed away August 15th, 1935, age 79 years and three months.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one brother Chas. W. Mills of Colfax; nieces, Mrs. Cora Scott, of Colfax, Mrs. H. W. Clendenny of Omaha, Neb., and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Wistner was a prominent member of the Eastern Star lodge.

A funeral service was held at Ogden Utah. The services in Colfax were in charge of Rev. J. B. Hockersmith, pastor of the local Christian Church. Interment was made in the Colfax Cemetery in the Mills family Plot.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Geo. Robinson and Mrs. Earl Plummer.

Pall bearers were R. E. Cummings, John H. Luther, Frank J. Stouffer, Gordon Forsyth, George Weirick and (rest of obit torn off, but it could be J. Eastman). ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa 22 Aug 1935.
