William (Bill) Joseph Nace 69, passed away on June 1, 2015 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Ia. Bill was born September 27, 1945 in Albia, Ia. He is the oldest of five children by his parents Joseph and Marge Nace.

On December 19, 1970, Bill was united in marriage with Jeraldine Lee Gideon in Albia, Ia. Last year they celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary.

Bill was a Vietnam Veteran and was employed at Maytag in Newton for over 30 years. Bill had a passion for fishing, camping and working on engines. Bill was a very loving and caring father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Harold, and his three sisters Dorothy, Carole (Can), and Nada.

Those left to honor Bill’s memory include wife Jeri; daughter Melissa (Jeff) Braaksma of Newton; sons Michael and Robby of Keokuk; Sister Sherry (Eugene) of Oskaloosa; Brother Gary (Alice) of Bussey; 9 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Sister in law JoAnne Sanders of Marshalltown; Sister/Brother in law Janice (Raymond) Hartgrave of Chelsea; and Brother/Sister in law Jody (Janet) Gideon of Newton.

Every man dies, but not every man lives as full and happy a life as Bill. He lived life to the fullest and courageously for one year while going through cancer before he passed.
