Those left to honor Otto’s memory are his children, Gary Green, Galen Green and Gayla (David) Hannagan, all of Newton; five grandchildren, Gary D. Green, Heather (Benjamin) Hannagan Adams, Lucas Clement, Holly (Nathaniel) Hannagan Dale and Tyler Clement; six great-grandchildren, step-grandchild, Teresa Ann Robson of Newton and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” in 2009; son, Gil Francis Green in infancy in 1960; daughter, Gloria Marie Green Clement in 1989; and daughter-in-law, Penny A. Green in 2008.

Otto served his country in the U. S. Army from 1942-1945 during WW II.

Otto was a truck driver for the Maytag Company for 37.5 years, retiring in 1981.

Otto was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1655 and he was a member of UAW Local 997 Retiree’s Union. He had enjoyed fishing and camping, when Betty became ill he took care of her for 13 years, never missing a day at the nursing home with her. People knew Otto from walking his dog, Snowball.
