Obituary of Milford Ober

A Time of Remembrances and Memorial Service for Milford, will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at the Newton Moose Lodge #923. Friends may call at the Moose, 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, with the family. Burial will be at the North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Memorials have been designated in Milford's name, and can be left at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, who has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Milford W. Ober, 76, the son of Clyde David and Blanche (Bass) Ober, was born February 9, 1935, in rural Webster County, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Stratford High School, Class of 1954. A longtime resident of the Newton area, he was employed by the Maytag Company, retiring in 1992, in the Porcelain department.

On July 7, 1956, Milford was united in marriage with Deloris Irene Babbitt in Fort Dodge, IA. He devoted his life to his family, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Milford passed away on Monday evening, Feb. 6, 2012, at his home in Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Deloris on April 9, 2001; a son-in-law; and three brothers and two sisters.

Those left to honor the memory of Milford's include his daughters and sons-in-law: Paula (John) Schutter of Lynnville, Darla (Gary) Claseman and Ardis (Travis) Coady, both of Newton; his ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters: Dean Ober, Velma Woods, Lenard Ober, Jane Hickle, Esther Santi, Jerry Ober, Pam Heun and Loraine Corey; sister-in-law Karen Ayers of MN.; and his many friends. ~ The Pence Reese Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa Feb 2012.
