Mary Louise Roberts, age 87 of Prairie City, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Courtyard Estates in Pleasant Hill. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Prairie City United Methodist Church with burial following at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2015, after 2:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Prairie City United Methodist Church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Henry and Mary (Callahan) Van Ekeren, Mary Lou was born on April 8, 1928, in Colfax. Mary Lou graduated from Colfax High School in 1945.

On June 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Raymond Roberts at the Colfax Christian Church. Mary Lou's first love was her home and family. She, along with Raymond, owned and worked at Roberts Brothers True Value in Prairie City. She was a member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church, VC-8, TTT, Women's Society of PCUMC, and the Prairie City Historical Society.

left to honor her memory include her four daughters, Francy (Jim) Furman, Ginny (Mike) Dalton, Patty (Kevin) Huffman, and Sharon (Steve) Frykman; four grandchildren, Kevin (Andrea) Dalton, Traci (Bryan) Nelson, Wendy (Scott) Rains and Addison Huffman, nine great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Hazel Van Ekeren, and several cousins, including her special cousin, Jeanie Crane.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Raymond and a brother, John Van Ekeren. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 26 May 2015.
