Margaret Welch, 89, of the 2800 block of Des Moines Street died of a heart ailment Friday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. The body was cremated, and no services are planned. Private burial of the cremains will be at a later date at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Welch was born in Colfax and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons, Richard McIntosh of Altoona and Michael McIntosh of Ames; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John.
