Former Colfax Boy Dies

The following article taken from the Chicago Tribune tells of the death of George W. Fellows, on August 29.

George W. Fellows, 42 years old, chief bond salesman for Dillion, Read and Co., 134 S. LaSalle Street, died suddenly yesterday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Mary S. Fellows, 5243 Sheridan road.

Last Monday, Mr. Fellows fell down a flight of stairs in the Hamilton club, 20 S. Dearborn Street, of which he was a member. He complained of feeling faint when he entered the club. Dr. Harry Krauss, 25 E. Washington Street, gave him medical aid. His condition was not considered serious, but yesterday he complained of head pain and shortly afterward died. ~ The Chicago Tribune

Mr. Fellows puts a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fellows and was raised in Colfax. His father at one time ran a drug store here and later operated a bottling Works. The family was quite prominent in Colfax at the time of the residence and will be remembered by many old residents.

Mr. Fellows is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Fellows, with whom he made his home in Chicago, and one brother, S. F. Fellows, of La Crosse, Wisconsin. His father and one brother having preceded him in death. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax Iowa, Thursday, 17 Sept 1931.
