COLFAX – Funeral services for Marie Margaret Withers, 72, a life-long resident of Colfax, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the Howard Street Christian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Withers died Thursday at the Iowa Methodist Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are three sons, Henry E. Withers of Colfax, Ben Weithers of Colfax and Ked Weithers of Colfax; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Earl Brown of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry, in 1979, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church, the Pocahontas and Pythian Sisters.
The daughter of Ben and Pearl Pieart Brown, she was born Oct. 3, 1914 in Colfax.
She was married to Henry Withers Feb.9, 1931 in Newton.
