Newton IA. – Theresia C. Stodden, 83, of Newton died of pneumonia Sunday at Heritage Manor Care Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Stodden was born in Mapleton and had lived in Newton for nine years. She was a homemaker and had been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Rosary Society.
Survivors include her husband, August; three sons, Merlin of Baxter, and Gerald and Charles, both of Des Moines; two daughters, Twyla Davis of Cedar Rapids and Charlene Reischl of Monroe; a brother, Walter Schoenherr of Sioux City; four sisters, Judy Fox of Yuma, Ariz.; Erma Karsten of Spencer, Lucy Moorehouser of Lake View and Mary Hartnett of Sioux City, 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. today at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
