DIES AT 69

Priscilla Burroughs Riley, 69, died Jan. 6 at her home in Colfax.

The daughter of Richard and Alma Newcomer Burroughs, she was born Jan. 11, 1906, in Newburg. She graduated from Newburg High School in 1924. She later attended Grinnell College and was graduated from Iowa State University.

On Sept. 5, 1938, she was married to Auegne Riley at Grinnell. She taught for several years in the Colfax schools, earlier having taught at Bloomfield and Clarence.

Mrs. Riley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Colfax, the Ladies Aid, and Poinsettia Club, and the church choir.

She is survived by one son, Donald Riley of McAllen, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Linda) Shaw Jr. of Altoona; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Clausen of Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. Wendell (Verna) Paul of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1969; and one brother, Philip.
