Robert Danks Died of Injuries When Plane Fell In Neighbor’s Field

Died at Mid-night Without Regaining Consciousness

Robert LeRoy Danks, son of Mr. and Mrs. John N. Danks, died Friday night of injuries suffered in the plane crash, on the Walt Beals farm earlier in the evening.

After the accident, Robert was brought to the Colfax Sanitarium, and all possible was done to save his life. He died about 12:00, without ever regaining consciousness.

Robert LeRoy Danks was born on March 4, 1922 and passed away on Friday night, July 16, 1937, at the age of 15 years, 4 months and twelve days. He is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John n. Danks, who reside on a farm near Colfax; two sisters, Jennie and Virginia; and three brothers, Jack and Donald of the United States Navy, and his twin brother, Russell, with whom Robert attended Goddard Sunday School and Lone rock rural school. He was graduated with his class from the eighth grade this last June, and was planning to attend Colfax High School this fall. A good boy, obedient to his parents, and liked by all, he will b long remembered and mourned by his many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the Colfax Presbyterian Church with the Rev. A. O. We(?)delburg, Pastor(rest of obit is torn off). ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Mar 1937.
