Frank W. Evans Rites Held

Frank W. Evans, 80, of Colfax, a former member of the Colfax Community Schools Board of Education and a former longtime Poweshiek Township Clerk, Died Sunday, March 27, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 31, today, 11 a.m. at Colfax United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Cremation has been held and burial will be Friday, April 1st, at McKeever Cemetery, north of Colfax.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper or Colfax United Methodist Church may be left at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Alice; a daughter, Lynda (Mrs. Vincent) Bongatti of Campbell, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Robin of Watertown, S. D.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Royal, and a sister, Barbara Krebs.

The son of Richard and Agnes Bloomquist Evans, he was born May 9, 1913 in Colfax.

Mr. Evans, a 1930 graduate of Colfax Community High School, was married to Alice Brown March 7, 1936 in Des Moines.
