Lloyd F. Boettcher

Lloyd F. Boettcher, 84, 1328 Glenway Dr., a resident of Newton since 1943, died Saturday evening, Nov. 9, at the Newton Health Care Center.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Newton First Lutheran Church.

The Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Private family committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Reese Funeral Home. Family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials to the First Lutheran Church may be left at the church or funeral home or memorials to the Alzheimer's Support Group may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Edna; a son, Robert of Marion; a daughter, Lavine (Mrs. Dale) Signs of Estherville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a sister, Adeline Jiroushek of Ellendale, Minn.; a half-sister, Darlene Noyce of Owatonna, Minn.; and a half-brother, Albert Boettcher of Harrison, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George, and two half-brothers, Willie and Herman.

Mr. Boettcher was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the church council and served for many years on the church's visitation committee.

He operated a garage and service station in Maitland, Mo., before moving to Newton and was a tool and die maker at the Winpower Corp. for 26 years.

The son of Albert and Anna Linse Boettcher, he was born Nov. 27, 1906 in Steele County, Minn., and was educated in Steele County Schools.

He was married to Edna Wilkie Oct. 17, 1933 in Owatonna, Minn. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 11 Nov 1991.
