Kellogg Woman Killed in Auto Accident
Auto Was Forced Into Ditch By H. C. Soults, Des Moines

Mrs. John Lemke, of Kellogg, was killed Saturday evening on Highway No. 6, west of that city, when the auto she was riding in was forced off the pavement by a car alleged to have been driven by H. C. Soults, of Des Moines.

Both cars were going east andit is reported that the Des Moines car in passing, forced the Lemke car into the ditch and the shock of the collission was the causeof Mrs. Lemke's death. She died before she could be taken to a hospital.

The Des Moines car, which was not damaged to any extent, was turned around in the collision and immediately left the scene of the accident for Des Moines, but witnesses took his number and after learning that the woman had died, he returned to Newton and surrendered to the sheriff and was placed under $1000 bonds.

Mr. Lemke receivd minor cuts and bruises in the accident. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thur 21 Apr 1932.
