Death of Winn Foreman

Mrs. S. C. Paschal received a telegram thursday telling of the death of her nephew, Winn Foreman, in New York city.

Mr. Foreman was president of the Foreman & Clark stores which are scattered across the united states. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 18 feb 1932.

Co-founder of one of the nation's largest clothing franchises, ‘Foreman & Clark' department stores were started in Los Angeles in 1909. Foreman had stores all over the west coast and eventually several stores across the country. The clothing for the stores was designed and hand tailored in five different plants that were owned and financed by Foreman & Clark then it was distributed to stores across the country. In 1931 one of their stores in Oakland, California caught fire and was severely damaged, but they rebuilt and business went on as usual. The Foreman & Clark stores remained in business until 1999. Winfield's son ‘Bill' as he was known worked in the family business in Chicago and other locations, working in sales as well as management and eventually became district manager. ‘Bill' was born May 21, 1915 and died November 3, 2005.
