Valeria Youth Dies Following Appendectomy

Death Takes Emmet Morrissey, 16, Wednesday Morning

Emmet Morrissey, 16, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Morrissey of Valeria, died Wednesday morning at the Mercy Hospital, death resulting from peritonitis following an operation for a ruptured appendix.

Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers, James and Joe and five sisters, Berneice, Helen, Alice, Margaret Ann and Joan.

The eldest in the family he was a partner of his father in the raising of throughbred stock and was greatly interested in the activities of the 4-H Club. He would have been seventeen years old had he lived until February 11th.

Funeral services wil be held at (rest of this obituary is missing). ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 11 Feb 1937.
