Maureen Mc Cracken Van Zomeren, 72, of 720 S. 8th Ave W., a lngtime resident of Newton, died saturday morning, March 13, at the Skiff Medical Center of Kidney failure.

Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Newton Union Cemetery.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.

Survivors are her husband, Wilbur "Web;" a daughter, JoAnne (Mrs. Ron) Ehresman of Newton; two grandchildren; and a brother, Walter Mc Cracken of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert McCracken, in 1962.

Mrs. Van Zomeren, a homemaker, had resided most of her life since April, 1941, in Newton.

The daughter of R. H. and Tressa Pinnick Mc Cracken, she was born July 14, 1920 in Monroe and was graduated from Monroe Community High School.

She was married to Wilbur Van Zomeren Oct. 24, 1939 in Paolia, Ind. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 15 Mar 1993.
