Erica Shawn Peterson

Erica Shawn Peterson, the daughter of Zachary and Wendy Peterson was born in Des Moines, August 20, 1990. Erica lived all her life in the Colfax and Mingo areas, where she was a fifth grade student at the Colfax-Mingo Elementary School. Erica died Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines due to an auto accident, at the age of 10 years.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 11, 2000 at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax with the Rev. Dan DuRocher officiating. Burial was at Colfax cemetery.

Surviving are her parents, Zachary and Wendy Peterson, grandparents, Carolyn Ogden of Des Moines, Nancy Peterson of Pleasant Hill and John Peterson of Colfax, great grandparents, Margaret Baker, Dean Peterson and Darlene Peterson, all of Des Moines, and Gladys Christopherson of Ankeny, and a great-great-grandmother Bernice Shultz of Wisconsin. Also surviving are two aunts; Carrie and husband Brad Irlbeck, and Melissa Guzman, an uncle Micheal Ogden and wife Jamie, cousins and many other relatives and friends. ~ Jasper County (Iowa) Tribune, Thursday, Nov 16, 2000
