Galen E. Moore, 90, of Ottumwa died Saturday, April 21, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 24 at the Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Stephanie Raphael Nakos officiating. Burial was held at Colfax Cemetery.

Memorials will be accepted to Willard St. United Methodist Church.

The son of Alva and Mary Ellen Stock Moore, he was born March 29, 1911, in Newton. On January 27, 1945, he married Helen E. Stewart. He was a resident of Newton until 1943, when he moved to Ottumwa. He had worked 16 years at the Maytag Corporation and 28 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1973. He was a member of UAW Local #74 and was a social member of Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Craig and Brad Moore, both of Ottumwa; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Duane Moore of Phoenix, Arizona; and three sisters, Rozella Bales of Colfax, Gladys Griggs of Newton and Doris Korras of Westville, Indiana.
