William A. Boddicker

William A. Boddicker, age 58 of Prairie City, died Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Prairie City Christian Church, with burial following at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will also greet friends on Thursday morning at the church for one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the William A. Boddicker Memorial fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Benjamin and Myrtle (Lambertus) Boddicker, Bill was born of November 30, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Vinton High School in 1973. Following high school he moved to Jasper County and worked at Prairie City Concrete. He later worked for 27 years at Maytag. He also worked at Kum & Go in Colfax until his health got worse. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Bill loved to watch football and was a die hard Vikings fan. GO VIKINGS!

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Linda Kay of Prairie City, mother, Myrtle Boddicker of Vinton, siblings, Sharon (Wayne) Rhinehart of Vinton, Carolyn (Ronnie) Crady of Kellogg, Dennis (Marlee) Boddicker of Knoxville, LeAnna (Bruce) Williams of Cedar Rapids, DiAnna (Greg) Gerdes of Vinton, Cheryl Kiel of Vinton and Michael (Tina) Boddicker of Grinnell. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and the greatest nieces and nephews in the world.

Preceding him in death was his father and grandparents. Bill had many struggles in life, but loved his Lord and will be missed by all. ~ Probably, Jasper County Tribune, Thursday, Jan 31, 2013
