Military honors and a time of sharing will begin at 5 p.m.

Bill, the son of Denver and Ada (Kellogg) McBeth was born January 13, 1936 in Hedrick, Iowa. The family moved to Newton while Bill was in junior high, and he graduated from Newton High School in the Class of 1954. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958. He married Martha French on May 4, 1957. To this union, four daughters were born: Vicky, Wanda, Billie, and Julie. The couple later divorced. Bill was united in marriage with Margie Akers on July 19, 1990.

Bill worked in maintenance for the Maytag Company, retiring in 1983. He also owned Bill’s Used Cars and junkyard outside of Kellogg. He was a member of the Kellogg Lion’s Club and the Silver Wheels Car Club. He enjoyed traveling, going to car shows, and working on cars.

Those left to honor Bill’s memory include his wife, Margie of Kellogg; his daughters: Vicky (Nick) Meyers of Ankeny, Wanda (Duane) Buchholz of Atascodero, CA, Billie Hoen of Newton, and Julie (Jeff) Jones of Papillion, NE; his step-children, Keith Lydon (Mary) of Johnston and Heather (Jeremy) McMulin of Urbandale; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his sister, Janice Evans of Des Moines; and his daughters' mother, Martha.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemary.
