Obituary of Helen Markmann Robson

Funeral services for Helen Markmann Robson, 94, of Newton, will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation with the family present will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until service time and coffeetime in the Tribute Center following the service. Pastor Zachary Bey of First Lutheran Church will conduct the service. Memorials have been designated to First Lutheran Church, Jasper County Senior Citizens or American Lung Association.

Helen E. Robson the daughter of William John Hildebrand and Mae Wilhemina Caldwell was born October 9, 1920, in Montezuma, Iowa. She attended Newton Senior High School. Helen was united in marriage to Herbert W. Markmann on April 2, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa. Herbert died on February 13, 1992. On April 29, 1994, in Newton, Helen was united in marriage to John P. Robson. Helen was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family. Helen was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Newton, Pocahontas Lodge #88 and Jasper County Senior Citizens.

Helen died on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Park Centre Care Center in Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband Herbert Markmann, three sisters and five brothers. Those left to honor Helen's memory include her husband John P. Robson of Newton, son and daughter-in-law Dan E. and Nancy M. Markmann of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, step-daughter Judy Schutty of Newton and many nieces and nephews.
