Nolen Patterson

Graveside services for Nolen Patterson, 75, of 815 E. 15th St. N., Progress Industries, will be Friday at Restland Cemetery in Baxter at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Wilson officiating. The Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Mr. Patterson died of respiratory failure March 13 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

The son of Clarence and Velda Tribby Patterson, he was born April 7, 1923, in Baxter. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1936.

A former resident of Marshall County, Mr. Patterson moved to Newton in 1976. He was a resident of the Jasper County Care Facility from 1976 to 1989 before moving to Progress Industries. He was employed by Progress Industries for more than 20 years in Newton, doing various small assembly projects and factory work before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton.

He is survived by his family at Progress North Group Home in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Tuesday May 4, 2000.
