Evelyn DeKoning, Newton

Evelyn L. DeKoning, 95, of Newton died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Heritage Manor Care Center there. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, with burial at Palo Alto Cemetery there.

Mrs. DeKoning was born in Indianola and had lived in Newton since 1926. She was a homemaker and a farm wife and was a volunteer with Skiff Medical Center and the Newton school system. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church, Newton Women's Club, Aloha Club and CW Club.

She is survived by a son, Wayne of Newton; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard.
