Darwin Duncan Died Jan. 22

Services for Darwin T. Duncan, 65, lifelong resident of Colfax were held Saturday, Jan. 25th 2 p. m. in the First Presbyterian Church at Colfax.

The Rev. Roy Allen Was minister of the church, officiated. Mrs. Larry Hanel was the soloist and Mrs. S. E. Tennant organist.

The pallbearers were Max Duncan, Jack Duncan, William Duncan, Larry Duncan, James Smith and Harold Hunter.

Honorary pallbearers were Pete Overdyke, Wayne Boatwright, Clair Pease, Oscar Franz, Charles Barackman and Roy Clippinger.

Mrs. Charles Barackman, Mr Ralph; Williams and Mrs. Hard Hunter served on the flower committee.

Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.

Mr. Duncan died Wednesday morning, Jan. 22nd, of a heart attack, at Skiff Memorial Hospital. He had entered the hospital, 'the night before his death.

The son of Edward L and Mar Gardner Duncan, he was born March 16, 1903 in Colfax.

He was married to Mildred Signs, June 24, 1924 at Winterset.

Mr. Duncan had been employed the past 15 years by the Monroe Company. Prior to this he farmed and was a trucker.

He was a member of the Colfax Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred three daughters, Mrs. Geraldir Grosvenor of Colfax, Mrs. Darla DeGraff of Colfax and Mrs. Hale Lee Dawson of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; a brother, Donald Duncan of Pleasantville; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Moeckly, Iowa City and Mrs. Agnes Belch of Paradise, Calif.

He was preceded in death b his parents and a brother, Harry Duncan. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Thursday Jan. 30, 1969
