Tigh J. Kriegel, 42, of Newton died on Monday, April 27, 2015, at Monmouth Cave National Park in Kentucky. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2015, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, May 3, at the funeral home. Memorials in Tigh’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Tigh, the son of Joseph and Sharon (Burke) Kriegel, was born on August 11, 1972 in Grinnell. When Tigh was a young boy the family moved to Newton. Tigh graduated from Newton High School in 1990. He worked for Giovanni’s in Newton for many years and then as an Assistant Manager at Wal-Mart in Des Moines and Newton for 10 years. Tigh was a member of the New Life Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Michigan Wolverines. Tigh enjoyed working with electronics, mud drag racing, four-wheeling, and RC cars.

Those left to honor Tigh’s memory are his parents, Joe and Sharon Kriegel of Newton; two sisters, Tammy Tomlinson of Tama and Stacy Kriegel of Newton; his niece, Olivia; maternal grandfather, James Burke of Mountain Grove, Missouri; and several aunt, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandmother, and two aunts. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 27 Apr 2015.
