Marlys "Marcie" L. Murphy, age 81 of Des Moines, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 13, 2015, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Memorial Contributions may be made to Taylor Hospice House of Des Moines. Mrs. Murphy was born in Des Moines and lived in Colfax for many years prior to her move to Des Moines to be closer to family during her later years of life. Her and her husband owned Colfax Locker until 1992 where she helped her husband after her retirement of 30 years working for the Equitable in Des Moines.

She is survived by her sister, Donna Boomershine of St. Cloud, FL; a niece, Laura VanderMeulen of St. Cloud, FL; a nephew, Jay Boomershine of Des Moines; three stepchildren, Todd Murphy and Mark Bequeaith, both of Des Moines and Anne Woodward of Indianola; and her step grandchildren. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 6 Mar 2015.
