Mrs. Gist Dies; Services Pending

Mrs. Josephine M. Gist, 80, a Newton resident the past 11 years, died this morning at her home, 427 North Fourth avenue East.

Mrs. Gist was born and reared in the Metz area and attended school in the Sugar Creek vicinity.

Services are pending Burial will be in Newton Union cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Guy, Kansas City, and Hugh, El Paso, Texas; and a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Anderson, Kellogg. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, November 30, 1954, page 1.

Note: She was the daughter of Hugh L. and Sarah Green Moffitt.
