Helen L. Pritchard, 93, passed away February 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Iles Westover Chapel, visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at Masonic Mausoleum.

Helen was born November 14, 1921 in Decatur County, Iowa to Earl and Ollie (Marsengill) Wilson. She attended Leon High School. She worked at I.O. Ordnance Plant in Nebraska during the war. In 1945 she returned to Des Moines and graduated from Iowa School of Beauty. She worked in many shops, including her own, Sharon's Beauty Shop. On June 9, 1951, she married Raymond P. Pritchard at the First United Methodist Church in Des Moines. They have taken many trips to California, Maine, Florida, Tennessee and Texas, where they were SnowBirds for many years. Helen was a 50 year member of Chapter 89 of the Eastern Star and a very active member of Christ United Methodist Church.

Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Raymond; three children, Sharon Damron of Coronado, CA, Alex (Kim) Pritchard of Austin, TX and Steven (Michelle) Pritchard of Newton; nine grandchildren; three step grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Hospice in Urbandale. ~ The Des Moines Register Legacy, Des Moines, Iowa 2 Mar 2015.
