Iris Elaine (Warner) Ling
April 11, 1929 - February 21, 2015

Iris Elaine (Warner) Ling was born April 11, 1929 in Jasper County and passed away February 21, 2015 in Ankeny. Iris was born to Oakley (Coke) and Bess (Shannon) Warner. She graduated from Newton High School in 1947.

Her husband Russ preceded Iris in death in April 2004.

Iris and Russ were married August 8, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. Iris made a career as a realtor and was employed with Iowa Realty for many years retiring in 1990. Iris and Russ were long time residents of Ankeny and had also spent time making Newton, Mason City, and Madrid Home.

Iris was also preceded in death by her sister, Vivian DeGreef, and brother, Robert Warner.

Iris had three grown children, Jeff (Kim) Ling of Ankeny, Kathie (Chuck) Vierling of Polk City, and Kurt (Michelle) Ling of Atlanta. Iris has four grandchildren, Jake and Julia Ling of Atlanta, Jason and Justin Ling of Ankeny; two step grandchildren, Duane (Kelley) Vierling of Bondurant and Jeanann (Anthony) Mueller of Ankeny, and four step-great grandchildren.

Iris retired from Iowa Realty in 1990.

Calling hours will be Thursday, February 26 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Ankeny Funeral Home. Services will be at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny on Saturday, February 28 at 10:00 AM. ~ The Des Moines Register Legacy, Des Moines, Iowa 2 Mar 2015.
