Richard Eugene Solasberry
March 3, 1937 - January 21, 2015

Richard E. Solasberry, age 77 of Colfax, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at McKeever Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of David and Ruth (Vander Mark) Solasberry, Richard was born on March 3, 1937, in Aurora, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Juanita Louise Hotopp. Richard moved with his family in 1966 and worked as a metal scrapper. He enjoyed fishing, going to the casino and traveling.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Richard (Mary) Solasberry, Jr. of Colfax, David Solasberry of Mitchellville, Margaret (Scott) Hindman of Newton, Linda (David) Abell of Colfax, Peggy Solasberry of Runnells, and Donna Albright of Georgia; 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Kirby and Ruth Fisher and his girlfriend, Betty Wenke.
