Joshua Wicker was born in Jackson county, Ohio, March 22, 1848. He passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jesse Lamb, at Vandalia February 25, 1923. He came to this country in the year 1848 with his parents. They located near Adelphi, Polk county, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Eliza Murray, who preceded him to the great beyond September 28, 1915.
To this union were born five children. They are Charlie, who departed this life at the age of two years, he leaves to mourn his loss Mrs. Max Smith, and Mrs. Ross Lamb of Vandalia, Roy Wicker, of Adelphi, and Murray Wicker, of Vandalia, three brothers, twelve grandchildren and a host of friends.
